The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) reports that the conflict in Ukraine has already resulted in shortages of food and drinking water in parts of the capital, Kyiv, and Kharkiv.

Food supplies are dwindling and shop shelves are almost empty. Conditions for food preparation are very difficult with gas, water and electricity not always available – especially in the shelters.

In addition to this, many Ukrainians are fleeing the country as refugees, finding shelter in homes and camps in foreign countries.
